Hi Guys, it’s me, Cheeky Monkey HD.com, here as we’re just about to prepare the picnic for our adventure through the portal that had appeared in Cheeky Cat 1080p’s food bowl.

“So,” I asked the guys.  “What do you want me to make for the picnic?”

“Wow,” replied DD4KUHD. “I just don’t know where to begin. Maybe Cheeky Cat 1080p can go first?”

“Mow,” she replied.

“You’ll have to translate,” I said.

“She said that she’d be happy with just loads of tuna and some cat sticks.”

I pulled 4 cans of tuna and 3 packs of cat sticks from the cupboard and placed them more carefully than necessary in the ‘pickernick basket’.

“I’m going to have butties, crisps and pop.” I said.  “With some choccy biscuits for my afters.”

DD4KUHD nodded as he mulled over the current inventory.

“OK, I’ve decided,” he said. “Put a few extra packets of cat sticks in the basket; I like those.  I’ll have some of the meat off all your butties, plus some of the meat put to one side especially for me.  I probably won’t eat the crisps, but at least let me try and then if I don’t like them I’ll just let them fall from my mouth onto the floor.  Chocolate is poisonous for me, so those biscuits sound like they’re just going to be using up valuable basket space. Hmmmm, what else?”

“I’ll just put a load of meat in there for you. Is that OK?”

He reluctantly agreed.  I know I probably sounded a bit mean there, but if I hadn’t interjected there’s a good chance that we’d never get to go on this adventure.  The haul was completed with some cans of pop¹ (for me) and some water (for them two).  And their travelling water bowls.  That is, water bowls that they use when we are travelling, NOT water bowls that independently take trips to various beauty spots throughout the land.

“Right,” I said.  “We’re all packed and ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Although, just to be clear, I’m not, in any way, promising that this will be the adventure of a lifetime, it’s just that we’ll be in a position to have one should one occur.”

“Thanks for that completely necessary clarification,” said DD4KUHD like the sarky little boy that he is.  Cheeky Cat 1080p took a playful swipe² at him for his impertinence. I rolled my eyes in a way that displayed my dissatisfaction with the sarcasm scenario but which would not escalate into a full-on fist/paw fight.  We all stood awkwardly for a while, looking at each other as if none of us knew what to do next and couldn’t think of the next bit of the story.

“Mow,” said CC1080p, eventually, and we all laughed.  She was absolutely right…again.

“Right,” I continued, still laughing a bit which, frankly, undermined my natural authority. “Let’s go jump in the portal and see what’s what.”
