Talkin’ ‘Bout My Art: Pyrrhic Victory

Hi guys, it’s me, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com the Artist, here, back, once again, to take an in-depth look at my art. This time it’s this:

Pyrrhic Victory
Pyrrhic Victory

Here we see a naval battle; an ancient  naval battle. Cannons smoking and balls blazing. The moment of iniquity captured in the medium of oil paint. Yet did the artist decide to capture the scene in this way because cameras were not yet invented or was her/she trying to say something? Well I’m trying to say something by the introduction in the foreground of Mikey.

Mikey is one of the most criminally rejected of all X-Factor auditionees. His masterful redecoration of Frank Sinatra – rightly described as “the classic”- was a moving, absurdist take on the whole “pop” genre. It seems only right that Mikey appears here, fist raised in defiance, mocking the sheer ludicrous nature of water and war. What would these sailors think if Mikey really was there?

The point is this: we’ll never know.

Until next time,

See you laterrrrrrrrrrrrr
