Talkin’ ‘Bout My Art: Lunar Panic

Hi guys, it’s me, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, here, and I’m an artist now! Woohoo!

That’s right, I’ve got myself into the world of photo collage and have been publishing some of my pieces live on Twitter.  But whilst Twitter might be a very immediate medium, it’s doesn’t allow me to discuss my oeuvre in any significant detail; hence my new feature, “Talkin’ ‘Bout My Art”. Welcome.

First off, I’d like to discuss my piece Lunar Panic:

Fascinating.

Yes, this is something of a playful concept. The jaunty juxtaposition of a bikini-clad, lunging Kerry Katona against the stark symmetry of the fullest of full moons only leads to further introspection. Is Kerry as big as the moon, or is it a simple trick of perspective? What does her panicked – almost pained – facial expressions tell us? Her arms raised to the very present heavens seems to suggest that she is asking, nay pleading, for enlightenment, yet her skimpy crimson attire invokes her mucking about in a swimming pool.

There are no easy answers with such a work as this. What initially appears to be little more than a lark reveals more layers than Derek McOnion, King of the Onions. And yet, this sub-Blackadder style quip leads to only more questions, queries and inquiries.

This. Is. Art.

Until next time,

See you  laterrrrrrr
