Pokemon GO GO GO!: Chapter 4

Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, the expert Pokemon hunter, was, unusually for him, not sat in the driver’s seat of his bright yellow jeep.  Indeed the driver’s seat of his bright yellow jeep was approximately one metre to his right.  Why?  Well, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, the expert Pokemon hunter, was stood on the pavement next to his sun-coloured vehicle, and was still looking upwards in the direction of the Palace of Westminster, which contained the clock tower, which contained the bell which is colloquially known as “Big Ben”.  As it happened, it also contained the mischievous Pokemon know as “Itchibum”. Indeed, this was the very reason for Cheeky Monkey HD.Com’s presence in the vicinity; the game was certainly, at this stage, very much afoot.

“Clang,” said the bell, at that very moment; disturbing Cheeky Monkey HD.Com from his reverie.

“Yes, that makes sense,” said the expert Pokemon hunter. “We’ve previously established that Itchibum is actually hanging from the clanger of Big Ben, the bell, so it stands to reason that he/she/it would be swinging about in a frivolous fashion that might lead to unexpected clangs. I’d better get myself up there and hunt he/she/it, so that I can a) add he/she/it to my coterie of creatures, and b) let these blessed Londoners finally get some sleep.”  And with that, he started to walk towards the door at the bottom of the clock tower that would lead, via a series of staircases, to the bell chamber.

This “door walk” despite it’s commonplace occurrence, was not actually the easiest of tasks, at least bio-mechanically speaking.  Indeed, the whole process of walking within the human species is accomplished with a cunning strategy that is known by the name of “the double pendulum”. Whilst performing the forward motion that, quite literally, defines walking, the leg that leaves the ground swings forward from the hip. This majestic sweeping motion is the first pendulum of the double pendulum. But what about the second of the two pendulums? Well, when the swinging leg strikes the ground with the heel, it cleverly rolls through to the toe in a motion that is described as an inverted pendulum. And that is the second pendulum. But there’s more to it than just the inclusion of two different types of pendulum.  Also, the motion of the two legs is coordinated in such a way that one foot or the other is literally always in contact with the ground (aka floor).

Such thoughts were all consuming to an explorer of the unknown, such as Cheeky Monkey HD.Com.  And as such, he had reached his destination/the door before he knew it.  As he reached for the door handle in preparation for a good, old-fashioned turning, he exclaimed:

“I got me a Pokemon to catch. “Yeeeee haaaaaaa!”

And when an expert Pokemon hunter, such as Cheeky Monkey HD.Com used the accent of an old-timey Western prospector, you could guarantee that the game was most certainly afoot.
