How did I enter this paradoxical state of simultaneous sadness on vacation state, I hear you ask? Quite simply through an appallingly inadequate internet connection meaning an inability to create YouTube gaming videos.  You might as well have cut my thumbs off, guys.

It seems that no matter how expensive of a resort that your parents pick, it DOES NOT guarantee acceptable bandwidth.  In many ways, this is the reason why I started my YouTube Channel, web-site and Twitter feed.  It shouldn’t be a privilege to be able to create online content – surely it’s a basic human right.  Why should those living in tropical paradises not also be able to contribute to the bustling online world of gaming videos? It simply isn’t right.

I’ve done my best to kick up a stink (protest at hotel reception), but it feels very much like shooting the messenger.  Shouldn’t the UN be stepping in here to intervene? (Answer:  YES!).  All I can do is use my online presence to flag up the issues where I see them and hope it makes a difference.

I do have a very slow, unreliable internet connection with which I’m hoping to provide you with text-based updates like this one.  Yes, I know it’s not 1998, but we all have to make sacrifices.
