Cheeky Monkey HD.Com’s mouth opened wide. Wider than wide. Wider than you ever could imagine.  He couldn’t believe what Brian the Dog-Sheep had just said to him.

“Could you repeat that please, Brian?” asked Cheeky Monkey HD.Com

“Why?” replied Brian, impertinently.

“Two reasons. Firstly because what you said was so shocking.  And secondly so that anybody who didn’t read the first chapter of this story will then be quickly caught up on the main plot point.”

“But couldn’t they just go back and read the first chapter?”

“Just do it.”

“Ok,” said Brian, pausing for dramatic effect. “I’ve lost the Mushroom Cow.”

Cheeky Monkey HD.Com’s mouth opened wider than it was before; which was impressive as it was already wider than you ever could imagine.  After Brian looked suitably chasistised by the wideness, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com slowly closed his eating-hole (mouth).  He couldn’t believe that Brian had let this happen. As a Dog-Sheep, his primary role on the island was to look after the Mushroom Cow. Surely that was obvious to All and Sundry (or it would have been had they been present at the time.  As it happens All was having a swim in the sea and Sundry was making toast). 

“Well it looks like we’re going to have to go and find him/her/it,” said Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, confidently.

“Do we have to?” replied Brian.  “Can’t we just shout for him/her/it and hope that him/her/it comes back?”

Cheeky Monkey HD.Com slowly shook his head.  He couldn’t be bothered opening his mouth wide again.

“No, we’re going to have to go look for the Mushroom Cow, but because you’ve made such a meal out of this simple conversation, we’re not going to be able to do that until Chapter 3.  Are you happy now?”

Brian sneezed. Brian was an idiot.
