Will Television Listen?

Hi Guys, it’s me, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, here.

I just wanted to talk to you today about a little campaign that I’ve been running with over the last few days. I don’t know if you know, but I love mobile gaming.  In particular, I’m quite a fan of Minecraft and SimCity BuildIt.  And as much as love playing them, and watching videos of me and others playing them on YouTube, it’s really started to bother me that they don’t really have a presence on mainstream TV.

HAHAHAHAHA! I can hear you laughing!

“We’re millennials, Cheeky Monkey HD.Com,” you’re saying. “We don’t care about television.”

And you’re right.  Television is something that a boring uncle might watch.  But don’t boring uncles deserve to find out how great mobile gaming is?

I think yes.

So what I’ve done is contact the following TV stations via Twitter:

UK

BBC1
BBC2
BBC3
Channel 4
Channel 5
Dave
e4
Ideal World
ITV
ITV2
ITV4
QVC UK
Sky 1
Sky Sports

US

CBS
FX Networks
HBO
NBC
Showtime
The CW

Online

Amazon Video UK
Netflix
Hulu

I asked them all the same simple question:

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

At the moment, the only reply I’ve had is:

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

Sure, I’m very disappointed that QVC don’t have any plans to sell either Minecraft or SimCity BuiltIt products (and, for the record, I think they’d be onto a winner if they did), but I can only respect their willingness to interact with mobile gaming fans.  Is it any wonder that us mills don’t give a jot about TV?

There’s still time, so let’s hope that the network bosses read this post and realise why their audience share is ever declining. #fingerswishing
