Cheeky Monkey HD.Com walked slowly from the ramp of his spaceship, known as “The Minecraft”, and into the imposing Hall of Champions.  He was greeted by Kang the Conqueror, the time-travelling tyrant who was the bane of the Marvel Universe.  Cheeky Monkey HD.Com couldn’t see his face beneath his blue mask, but he suspected that he was smiling.

“Ahh, you must be Cheeky Monkey HD.Com,” said Kang.  “I’ve heard so much about you.  Welcome to Marvel’s Contest of Champions.”

“Thank you,” said Cheeky Monkey HD.Com, with a slow gulp. “I’m excited to be here.”  And he was excited to be there.  He was a big fan of all the Marvel characters and couldn’t believe that he’d now be in charge of a team of them.

“Good good,” replied Kang. “I’m glad to hear it, my young padawan. Now follow me.”  Kang gestured with his hand for Cheeky Monkey HD.Com to follow him.  The Cheeky One was hesitant, but knew that he couldn’t show any weakness in front of the temporal despot.

Kang led him into a chamber where there were probably some of those glass cylinders that evil people put good people in to.  Cheeky Monkey HD.Com wished that he’d paid more attention to the cutscene that had been playing when he’d accepted the challenge of the Contest of Champions.  Alas, he’d just been too impatient and had wanted to get down to the fighting.  He decided that he’d just have to play things by ear and hope that he’d pick things up as it progressed.

“Here are your first two team members,” announced Kang. “Spider-man and Iron Man.”

Cheeky Monkey HD.Com sighed.  Spider-man was great, but everybody knew that Tony Stark was a really annoying know-it-all.  This was going to be trouble…
